Kittens are very curious and like to run, jump and climb.  Remove all breakable and dangerous items from their reach. Provide a scratching post and train to use.

Kittens love to play with toys of any kind.  Even a crumpled piece of paper can provide amusement.

A single kitten will likely cry a lot the first couple of nights.  Make the kitten’s area as cozy as possible by providing a blanket and stuffed animal. Kittens can be comforted by holding the kitten to your chest to hear your heartbeat, this is something they typically do with mom so if she is not around, kittens will be relaxed by the sound of a heartbeat. You can also purchase a “Snuggle Kitty”, a stuffed animal that has a battery-operated heartbeat inside. Use a toothbrush to mimic the feeling of mom grooming them with their tongue by gently brushing their back, head, and side of their face with a clean toothbrush.

Kittens should never be allowed outside.
